The Central Coast Greens remain committed to protecting residents from noise, the environment from pollution and the council from wasting money, by standing against changes to the Warnervale aerodrome. Despite some former councillors’ grandiose plans for a regional airport, there is no commercial demand, and a great many reasons to retain the aerodrome at its current modest size. The Warnervale Aerodrome restrictions ACT (WAR Act) has unexpectedly been subject to plans by Rob Stokes, Planning Minister, for repeal, opening the way for large scale change which would negatively impact the Central Coast, and which cannot be adequately explained on the publicly available evidence.

Central Coast Greens have been hosting an inspirational series of zoom webinars looking at pathways the Central Coast might take post-COVID19 to create a robust, clean and resilient local economy in a way that tackles the overlapping challenges of the climate crisis and social inequality.

The fourth and final event in this series will take place live online on Saturday 26th September from 11.30 am. The two speakers are Adam Bandt and Michael Askew.

The Central Coast Greens express sympathy for the distressing and challenging situation of owners affected by the recent storms on the Central Coast. These events highlight the need for effective policies to address the issues raised by more frequent extreme weather events and sea-level rise due to human-induced climate change while compensating affected residents.
